Yasmin Young talks with Chantaul about moving from Germany and growing up in North Carolina trying to pursue a music career! With a blend of jazz, hip-hop, and gospel, Chantaul is set to take over the world with her silky smooth voice and radiant personality and looks.

Chantaul Williamsis an American singer, songwriter and arranger who, at only 20 years old, has been compared
to some of the vocal giants!
Alisha “Chantaul” Williams was born in Hamburg,
Germany to Earl J. Williams, a sergeant in the U.S. Army
at the time, and Natasha Hawk Williams, a native of
Germany. Chantaul’s family moved back to the United
States when she was six years old. Chantaul’s father, a
singer in his own right, always had music in their home.
Chantaul grew up listening to great 90s R&B like R.
Kelly, and Jodeci as well as musical greats such as Prince
and Michael Jackson.
This vocal virtuoso began singing at a very early age but
kept her vocal ability to herself for a long while.
Although she is from a family of vocalists, she was quite
shy and only sang when alone or in the company of her
stuffed animals. That all changed when her father heard
her singing, quite accidentally. Chantaul was in a room
alone with the door closed, singing one of her favorite
songs when her father happened to be passing by. He put
his ear to the door and listened for a while until he heard
her hit a high note. Her father swung open the door and
exclaimed; Oh my God…you can really sing!!! From
that day on, she was encouraged to share her gift publicly
and she has not looked back since.
Chantaul Williams attended Bennett College in Greensboro, N.C.
She performed with several R&B and hip-hop groups
while in college, as she appeased her insatiable love of
music on a part-time basis. She decided to take a hiatus
from her collegiate studies in her sophomore year. When
asked why she put college on hold to pursue her music,
Chantaul Williams noted that she knew she had to pursue music
full-time when she realized that she “lives and breathes”
music. Her passion for creating a new musical genre that
encompasses jazz, hip-hop and gospel, drives her!
Chantaul Williams gained a large Facebook and Twitter following by posting home-made videos online. She
received requests from as far away as Japan, continuously asking that she post new music. Since she
began her full-time musical endeavors, Chantaul has quickly gained a large fan-base amongst a wide
range of musical enthusiasts, but especially college-aged fans, both male and female alike.
Chantaul Williams is known for her energetic, vocally dynamic live performances and is poised to take the music
